It’s a place where you can cruise to see friends, stop for ice cream by boat, or fish around the many islands. Hike the Alta Via trail for sweeping views of 4-mile bay and beyond.
In winter there is no shortage of things to do. Snowmobile trails criss-cross the lake, with the “Portage ” being a favourite stop for a drink and a bite to eat. The North Bay Nordic Club is a meeting place for this community, with programs and social events for all ages. Enjoy 50 kilometers of skate skiing, nordic skiing, or snowshoeing. Ski groomed trails through the hardwood forest, up hills and around small lakes.
Surprisingly, there are two restaurants and one ice cream shop on Trout Lake with plenty of dock space for boats. Average Joe’s is one of North Bay’s most popular eating spots. The menu ranges from traditional fare to casual dining. Snowmobile or boat to the Portage restaurant, where you can hang out with neighbours. Or order delivery from Average Joe’s by Sea-Doo – right to your dock! If you’re looking for dessert, drive or (better yet) boat to The Green Store for ice cream or fudge. With over 24 flavours, there’s something for everyone.
Homes on Trout Lake vary greatly from small renovated cottages to large luxury homes. Trout Lake is divided into two areas, the North which is in the city of North Bay and the South which is considered the community of Corbeil. Trout Lake is big and so driving times to downtown vary greatly, but there are many beautiful waterfront homes less than 10 minutes away from great shopping, entertainment, and food.
